The Walt Disney World Resort on Thursday released further details of its transformation of Epcot, announcing the creation of CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza, located just behind Spaceship Earth in the park's World Celebration neighborhood.
CommuniCore Hall will be a multiuse facility, consisting of flexible
exhibition and gallery space, a demonstration kitchen and more, useful
during Epcot's festivals held throughout the year; it will also feature a food component. CommuniCore Plaza
will be an outdoor event space that can be used for
musical performances.

World Celebration, home to Spaceship Earth, is one of three new neighborhoods, joining World Discovery (which includes the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission
Rewind pavilion and the Mission: Space pavilion) and World Nature (which includes the
pavilions The Land and The Seas with Nemo & Friends). Disney had announced the creation of those neighborhoods at an earlier date.

Previously, Epcot was divided into two main areas: Future World and World Showcase. But Disney's ambitious overhaul of the park split Future World into three new neighborhoods, which join World Showcase for a total of four neighborhoods.

World Celebration itself will feature a hub with a center planter based on Epcot's five-ring logo. A variety of gardens, with plenty of shade and seating, will surround it. In fact, Disney said, performances at CommuniCore will often expand into the gardens.
Gardens will change with festivals throughout the year, and at night, they will feature immersive lighting "that will evolve through the seasons," Disney said.
